IF YOUR POST IS ABOUT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, START HERE: If your question is about LEDs hooked up to boards such as Arduino, ESP8266/32 or Raspberry Pi and does not involve anyĬomponent-level circuit design or troubleshooting, first try posting in the relevant sub (eg: /r/arduino) - See this list in our wiki. The wiki doesn't cover it, please ask in /r/LED. If your question is a general one about identifying, powering, controlling, installing and buying LED strips, RGB LEDs and domestic LED lighting and If your question is about designing or repairing an electronic circuit to which the LEDs are connected, you're in the right place! To start, check this wiki page, which has general tips, covers frequently asked questions, and has notes on troubleshooting common issues. Make sure shiftclock goes to pin 11, and output latch goes to pin 12. Hi, it seems you have a question about LED lighting, RGB LEDs or LED strips. If common anode, then you need +5 on the anode line, and let the shift registers take the cathodes low to light them up - your LEDs are upside down on the schematic. Which one is used depends on the designer and their experience,Īnd on concerns about price and availability. There are advantages to using common anode or common cathode, These days, there are other methods and chips to drive these displays. Years ago, there were 74 single digit 7-segment LED display drivers. If you wire up these LEDs the wrong way, they won't work. Here is a list of two 7-segment LED displays identical except for polarity Ī few pages into the datasheets is an "internal circuit diagram"Ĭompare these diagrams between the two PDFs, the only different is the direction Current will only flow one way.Īnode must be more positive voltage than cathode, or else it won't work. If you swap the leads of the LED, the LED will not light. It shows an typical example of how a LED, battery and resistor are connected. Here is a link for a LED Series Resistor Calculator On the other hand, with a common cathode type, you have to supply the power to the LED through the chip which controls them, or use two additional transistors per color which separate the power supplies. The individual LED chips may be placed directly adjacent to each other into the very same metallic reflector pan, as that one is the common cathode. You don't have this problem with the common cathode types. It's less a problem for the SMD types but in general, the individual chips need to be placed a bit further apart and that means you cannot focus the light too well. This is especially bad for the "wired drop" types. They have, however, a huge downside: the cathode of each individual LED chip is also its mechanical base, and that means in a common anode LED, the individual LED chips cannot be placed in a shared metallic reflector pan. Common anode multi-LEDs have the advantage that you may drive them from a different power supply than the circuit that controls them, because their individual color legs are tied to ground, which is the shared potential for both the controlling circuit and the power circuit. The mixture should begin to resemble the texture of toothpaste. It is crucial you do not make the icing too runny. Let each tablespoon of water be incorporated before you add the next. I’ll admit it: I’m a serious perfectionist. All remaining lives at the end of a game are each worth 50,000 additional points to add on to the final score. Upon beating this level, the player wins the game (If a player fails to beat the Space level, they must beat all of stage 12 again before getting another chance to win). This level cannot be accessed without first completing stage 12. However, if the player is able to beat all twelve stages, they are taken to the "Space" level, which is longer than all previous levels, has less color-grouping amongst the balls, and has no visible path for the balls to follow. If the player loses all of their lives, the game ends, and they must start again at the beginning of the last stage they advanced up. Stages 10–12 are essentially the same as 7-9, but they take longer, come out further at the start of the level, and the chain of balls moves along slightly faster. Levels are eventually added to stages: Each of stages 4–6 have 6 levels, and each of stages 7–12 have 7 levels. Stages 1–3 have 4 colors of balls: red, green, blue, and yellow, Stages 4–6 add purple, and from level 7 on, white is also a color of the balls. The levels are organized into temples, and the level patterns of the first six levels of each stage will repeat after three "stages" of five levels each (the fifth level in each stage is unique in having two tracks of balls instead of the usual one). Shooting a coin with a ball, making multiple groups of balls explode with a single shot, shooting through gaps in the balls, or finishing a level within a certain period of time (called ace time) will give extra points. If not exploded quickly, power-up balls will return to their regular state after some time.Įach regular adventure begins with three lives (represented by frogs in the upper-left hand corner of the screen), but extra lives are earned with every 50,000 points. The explosion ball explodes all of the balls within a small radius of the ball at the spot and time of its explosion. The accuracy ball allows quicker shots and points an arrow at where the ball will be shot (this stays active for about the same amount of time as the slow-down ball however, size of balls must be considered). The slow-down ball slows the speed of the chain of balls for a short length of time. The backwards ball pushes the furthest-out chain (depending on if all of the balls are connected) backwards for a short length of time. Time bonuses are also awarded if a player completes the level within ace time - ranging from thirty seconds to four minutes depending on the level.įour different types of power-ups show up in balls, which can be activated by exploding the ball with the power-up. There are bonuses for collecting coins (usually through gaps), for causing explosions through gaps of other balls, and for having a streak of always causing an explosion with each consecutive ball (coins and chain bonuses are a quick way to fill the bar). The level is completed when after the bar is filled, the player eliminates all of the balls on the screen. When three or more of the same color come in contact, they explode, possibly triggering other explosions as part of a chain reaction. To prevent the balls reaching the Skull, the player can eliminate the balls by firing a colored ball from the stone frog idol's mouth towards the chain of balls that will continue to push forward until the player fills the yellow bar, which is when the balls will stop producing off-screen. As soon as one ball reaches the skull, the rest follow and the player loses a life. The player can carry two balls at a time and can switch at any time. The objective of Zuma is to eliminate all of the balls rolling around the screen along a given path, with other balls (the path is clearly visible in all of the levels except the last level), before these balls reach the yellow skull structure, which will open to varying degrees as a warning of oncoming balls. So if I have 10 databases selected for inspections, it will take DataGrip 62 minutes to complete the inspection. One database has about 220 tables with triggers, routines, functions, which might add up to about 300 resources in total. After inspecting all the grants, a single database takes another 5 minutes to inspect.ĭataGrip will run "select grantee from information_er_privileges group by grantee " which identifies 307 records where it runs a SHOW GRANT for each. I have watched the database logs (~/.cache/JetBrains/DataGrip2020.2/database-log/database.log) and identified that DataGrip spends 12 minutes running SHOW GRANT statements. I'm hoping there might be a solution because I'm pretty working without the benefits of an introspected database schema because the task ultimately never completes before I need to move the next database and inspection starts all over again. If you alter a table in any database, it seems to trigger a full re-inspections of everything where it could just re-inspect the one table that was altered. When it queries database users, it does this one user at a time. I'm using a local mysql CLI - so it's not network lag.Īside from DataGrip having very slow execution of queries, it seems to skip obvious optimisations. If I run that same query using the mysql CLI it takes a fraction of second. Each query it fires can take up to 2 seconds to complete. If I tail the log to see what DataGrip is doing I can see that it's queries are excessively slow. Having maybe 4 database inspected with 200 tables each can take hours to complete. However, as of a recent version (perhaps 2019.3) DataGrip became excessively slow. I'm having the same issue with excessively slow schema inspections.ĭataGrip has always been a poor performer (in comparison to HeidiSQL which can very rapidly inspect an entire database.) As a result, where our servers may have up to 100 database, I toggle which ones I'm working with so DataGrip only inspects a couple. Using it for the first time with was looking so good, I was so excited to see packages in full detail and not have to be in SQLDeveloper from Oracle.but I might have to switch back to that for a bit. I love DataGrip and used it with Postgres and Snowflake at my last place of work with no issues. I'm really hoping that I didn't just bring down my organization's oracle server to it's knees from an introspection on a large schema that took a while. I tried to cancel it and it just kept hanging, ultimately I force quit the application and then wasn't able to connect back to the database. I ended up walking away as I was kinda signing off for the day, but came back and hour and some change latter and it was still introspecting, granted the schema was massive. I had been doing some work, then wanted to add an additional schema to the managed schema list and it started introspection. And today, I'm nervous that I might of bogged down my organization's oracle server because of this product's problem with introspection. |
